FRANÇAIS :
La prescription des médicaments psychotropes en France soulève des questions de santé publique et d'éthique médicale. Le trouble psychique est trop souvent transformé en symptômes cibles pour les médicaments psychotropes, minimisant l'importance du psychisme individuel qui requiert une aide spécifique. Souvent prescrit par excès, parfois par défaut, le médicament psychotrope est utilisé principalement en médecine générale, selon des critères discutables. L'importance d'une formation initiale de bonne qualité en pharmacologie et en thérapeutique est soulignée. Une formation médicale continue indépendante est la seule garantie d'une prescription adaptée aux besoins des patients. (Résumé d'auteur)
ENGLISH :
The prescription of psychotropic drugs in France rises questions dealing with public health and medical ethics. Mental disorders are too often turned into target-symptoms for psychotropic drugs minimizing the importance of individual psychism which requires specific help. Prescribed either excessively or insufficiently psychotropic drugs are used mainly in general practice according to questionable criteria. The importance of a good initial training in pharmacology and therapeutics is stressed. A post graduate medical training totally inde pendant is the only warranty of a prescription adapted to patients'needs. (Author' s abstract)
