La consommation de cannabis chez les personnes sous méthadone est importante. En posant pour condition, que les patients qui emportent la méthadone à domicile doivent être testés négatifs (test urinaires) deux semaines de suite pour le cannabis, on observe une amélioration perceptible pour la moitié des patients. Il s'agit toutefois d'une étude réalisée sur un échantillon très petit.
ENGLISH :
Cannabis use rates among methadone maintenance clients are high. We attempted to decrease cannabis use in our most stable clients by adding a requirement to the take home dose policy that clients provide cannabis free urines to achieve twice a week pick up status. The urine records and take home status of all clients were monitored for the 6 months prior to implementation of the policy change and year following. A total of 50% discontinued their use in order to maintain 2 weeks status. (From authors' abstract)
