Résumé :
ENGLISH :
Objective: to determine the personality traits associated with cocaine consumption. Methods: 3634 military recruits and 2841 secondary school students completed the EPQ-A and the Sensation Seeking Scale. Each sample was divided into three groups: GI: non consumption of illegal substances; G2: consumption of illegal substances different from cocaine, G3: consumption of cocaine plus other legal and illegal substances. Results: Neuroticism: recruits and female students: G2 and G3 scored significantly higher than the other group; male students: no significant differences among groups. Intro-extroversion: recruits: G2 scored significantly higher than the other two groups ; male and female students: GI scored significantly lower. Psychoticism: in all samples significant differences were found among the three groups, G3 obtained the highest score. Sensation seeking: the three samples obtained the same results as those obtained in pscyhoticism. Conclusions: consumption of cocaine is associated with specific personality traits.
