ENGLISH :
The author first describes the history of medical use of cannabis and its revival in the 1990s. He then provides an overview of the legal situation and how this affects doctors and patients if cannabis is prescribed or recommended as treatment. Subsequently, the state of the art of cannabis medication research is described and analyzed. Finally, the public and political discourse that arose in reaction to legal and political efforts to legalize cannabis for medical purposes is described. (Author's abstract.)
