Résumé :
In this review, family practices have been the focus of all possible factors that may influence the use of legal and illegal drugs among adolescents. Based on this literature review the relationship between the integration of family life, family practices and use of alcohol and other drugs among Finnish students will be examined using data from the European School Survey Project (ESPAD) in 1999. The aim is to investigate how family structure, perceived adult disaproval, parent-child relationships, parenting practices, gender role and spending money are related to the use of legal and illegal drugs. This analysis will form a basis for a comparative analysis with a selection of ESPAD countries where the school survey included questions belonging to the integration module.
