Résumé :
ENGLISH :
This article reviews the history and status of addiction psychiatry residencies based on surveys conducted in 1990 and again in 1999. The 19 of 38 approved programs in operation since 1990 filled more positions than those that were more recently accredited, but they were not significantly different in time allocated lo respective clinical assi gnments or in salary support. Altogether, the programs provide a broad array of training sites (inpatient and outpatient, alcohol and other-drug related) suitable for the diverse needs that graduates will encounter. There were, however, differences in the balance of time dedicated to research relative lo patient care. Salaries were relatively modest and drawn from federal and local sources. (Author' s abstract)
