Après deux ans de mise au point préalable, nous présentons ici une thérapie de groupe de conjoints de malades alcooliques, en 12 séances. Cette présentation est précédée d'un bref historique des expériences cliniques et de la démarche théorique. Nous décrivons la constitution du groupe, les techniques utilisées pour mener les séances thérapeutiques, les hypothèses de départ, nos réflexions et nos élaborations, en particulier sur le phénomène de codépendance. Pour finir, nous discutons l'intérêt de cette approche thérapeutique quant à la prise en charge des malades alcooliques, mais aussi les points d'achoppement de nos hypothèses, les pistes futures que nous nous proposons d'explorer prochainement et enfin les limites de cette approche. Following a 2-year preliminary development period, the authors present a 12-5ession group therapy programme for partners of alcoholic patients, preceded by a brief history of clinical experience and theoretical aspects. They describe constitution of the group, the techniques used to conduct group therapy sessions, the working hypotheses and their thoughts and elaborations, particularly concerning codependence phenomena. They also discuss the value of this therapeutic approach for the management of alcoholic patients, but also the stumbling blocks of their hypotheses, other approaches that will be investigated in the near future and finally the limitations of this approach.
