Résumé : | In 1977, an elderly family member being treated for advanced cancer asked me to get him some marijuana. A conservative abstemious person, he was participating in an early stage clinical trial of an experimental treatment. Totally wretched with persistent nausea, unable to eat or swallow, he wanted marijuana because he had read in the newspaper that this was good for what ailed him. I was profoundly shocked.
